In the 1950s, Nikolina Bogdanović’s grandmother’s sister moved to Germany with her husband. The photographs she was sending documented their new life in the West.

About SEAFF

Focusing on animated shorts and experimental film, we present highly recognized artists and directors from the international scene as well as new and emerging independent artists and storytellers. The festival has been given attention in both Swedish and international press and has been supported by the cultural department of Stockholm City and by the Art Grant Committee in Sweden.


The first three editions of SEAFF have been held at Zita and Rio, two of Stockholm’s oldest and finest cinemas. The fourth edition took place online, completely free of charge and reaching a larger audience than ever. After a three year hiatus due to uncertainties within the culture sector post pandemic we're currently arranging the details for the fifth edition, scheduled to be held in September 2023.
